For Sale:

The forge is for sale, very portable and all hand made by me, I am asking $1500:oo This one is 3 1/2 wide and 5 long. This has a cast iron pot, heat shield between the pot and the wood frame, The box bellows has a piece of plywood as a diaphram so it won't warp and leather gasget . The frame is bolted together with angle iron in the corners, It has served me well for 6 years but I have to retire from moving this stuff around,( doctors orders ) the vice and anvil are already spoken for.

If you want to cal about the forge my number is 1-905-478-2508

Lets get together and hit some hot iron. This sort of thing has been talked about a lot, now lets see if we can make it happen.

ANVILS AVAILABLE

Stan Marks - Morris Road 41719, RR 4 Brussels, 519-887-6207

Stan has a stet up at the Goderich flea market at the Historic Gaol in that town every Sunday. I have seen his stuff over the years. He generally offers reasonable prices. Do watch that he caters to a 'tool collector' market (will attempt to get more for anvils with visible makers marks). He had a Mouse Hole in good working condition at roughly $1.50 a lb ($250 for the 180 lbs). He siad he also had several other anvils for sale.

Worth a phone call...

Note - added August 12, 2008.

I saw Stan's set up at Goderich (now located at the main town square in the centre of Goderich) on the last two Sundays. He had a total of four anvils available. Frankly, only one of these was what I would consider in anything like 'working condition'. He has come to consider anvils some kind of 'collector's item' and is jacking up prices to suit. The range I saw was roughly $3 per lb - and considering three were too rough to actually forge on...

The one (almost) suitable was about a 120 lb Mouse Hole. It needed the face ground down a bit, but otherwise looked and sounded ok. His asking price was $375.
