"... 17226 Myers road , Bonville Ont. It is off of hwy 138, coming from the 401 take the Brookdale exit head for the 138 and go north on the 138: TURN LEFT on myers road at the yellow flashing light in Bonville (its after St.Andrews) I will have an OABA anvil at that intersection. From the Ottawa area take the 417 to Montreal and get off at the Cornwall exit (hwy 138), head to Cornwall. It'll be a bit down past Monkland ( oh ya thats where the new Tim Hortons is). Its at the red flashing light ,TURN RIGHT. Look for the Dew Drop Inn, its a small bar on the same side as the house we're only a half minute after it. I'll also have an OABA anvil right at the driveway.
I want to take the day in looking at basic armouring. I've always had a thing
for a well tailored suit... I want to demonstrate what we as blacksmiths can
use in the armouring field, like rolling edges or fluting, it'll be riveting
,and its not as scary as one thinks. I will be demoing on a few simple pieces
the basic techniques.
There is enough space for a decent Hammer in. So bring your portables peoples,
lets make some noise!! I am trying also to see if I can possibly get a different
kind of demonstrator to come out.. but I shall confirm before I elaborate on
that one...part of one of my other hobbies...deals with the armour thing...
There is some space for camping if there is a need but it is a first reserve
basis so email me about that at ironsunset@rogers.com
I am also hoping to have a blacksmith stew that day as well.

CANCELED
I got a phone call from Mitchell this morning (Sept 15) with the sad news that he has had to CANCEL this session due to unforseen personal events. He will be in the process of moving his workshop over the next couple of weeks. (Beware - he may be hitting some of us up for a helping hand!) He feels pretty bad about having to bail on the session. Please pass the word if you know others who were planning to attend.

December Event
EVENT DETAILS
The Christkindl Market in Kitchener runs from Thursday, Dec. 6
to Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007. OABA will be present for the fifth year to demonstrate
the art of blacksmithing. The participating demonstrators are invited to bring
and sell some of their items. The Blacksmith demonstration is a very popular
part of the Market - the forge is always surrounded by lots of spectators.
Kitchener-Waterloo has a large German/European population and the Christkindl
Market has been a tradition for centuries. The Market is a great place to shop
for Christmas gifts. We hope to see a lot of members there.
