This DVD program takes you through the process of making your own gas forge. Includes chamber construction, burner constuction, orifice construction, insulating, coating, tuning the burner, initial firing, plus parts list and suppliers. 1 hour 36 minutes. 

This gas forge is an excellent starter forge. It is the same one made in the Gas Forge Video. It includes chamber, two firebrick, burner, propane hose, and regulator. You have to supply your own propane tank. 

NOTE! THIS IS AN UNRATED PROPANE APPLIANCE! AS SUCH YOU USE IT COMPLETELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. 

This air hammer takes a one man shop to the next level of production.

Recommended stock size of up to 1.5 inch square bar and yet have the control to draw out a point on 1/4 round bar. Requires separate 10 cfm compressor. This is an extremely versatile tool and is my right hand in the shop.

This three hour program contains a wealth of information, including what to look for in used tools, building a home shop, and demonstrations of a number of basic forming techniques. The first part covers TOOLS, including : forges / lighting a fire / coal / anvils / hammers / vices / safety / the home forge. The second half illustrates TECHNIQUES, demonstrating : hammer use / 'S' hooks / tent peg / fire poker /twists / toasting fork.

Ideal  DVD for the beginner to intermeadiate level blacksmith or knifemaker!

This two and three quarter hour program deals with the historic development of cutting edges and forging technology, as well as demonstrating the methods of producing three reproduction blades. Lecture topics include : introduction to iron and basic alloys / evolution of foundry furnaces and forges / basics of heat treating / historic blade patterns. The demonstrations show : heat treating  as well as the forging of : Romano-British table knife / Norse small seax / 1800's patch knife.
