Silver Rose - is made from a pattern downloaded from one of the many great web sites on
blacksmithing. It starts out as twenty gauge metal hammered out to approximately thirty gauge at the tips
of the petals. Using a cross peen hammer gives a nice pattern to the petals. The four layers of petals
were put together on a rod and rather than use a bolt as the plan called for the layer were instead brazed
to the rod. When painting the rose a bit of Vaseline on the brazed center protected it from the spray paint
that was gun metal gray in colour. The leaves have a couple of aphid holes blown in them with the torch
to give a more realistic look.
